The last seconds of school were ticking away, leading into a long awaited week end. The history teacher had done the usual quick run over of the chapter, pointing out key points and left the rest for the students to figure out. So after the fifteen minute lecture, a room full of excited freshman and juniors were let loose to do as they pleased until school was over. The teacher, sitting comfortably at his desk in the corner, didn't care about anything anyone did unless there was fire or blood.
Ira was staring blankly at her open textbook, wishing vehemently that there was at least a little blood. That would probably lower the noise level of her classmates by a few decibels at least. Sighing, she shut her book and prepared her backpack to leave. She wasn't usually in a hurry, but Fridays were when most clubs met. Art club wasn't too special, but it provided a somewhat quiet atmosphere that wasn't completely dead like her apartment.
BRIIIING.
"KENDO!" was the only scream that Ira could understand of all the excited shouts from the students.
She waited a few minutes for the room to clear and the halls to become less full before exiting the classroom. She passed the teacher completely, ignoring him. Ira actually liked this class a bit. It was wild and full of rowdy kids, but the teacher didn't expect much from his students other than good test scores. Ira managed them, so she had no problem.
Ira walked through the halls, and down one flight of stairs to get to the art room. The club meeting didn't really start until fifteen minutes after school ended, but Ira came in and dumped her backpack anyway. Since no one other than the supervisor was there yet, Ira asked to be excused for a bit and went outside.
"What to do for fifteen minutes," she said to herself, walking out the front entrance in her faded jeans and new shirt. Thinking back a few minutes, kendo came to her mind. "...let's see what the kendo club is doing then."
((Hey, is kendo in the gymnasium? If it's in the field or something, I'll edit))
Faintly remembering that that club met in the gym, Ira jogged over to see what was going on. Some bashing and shouting was heard from inside the gym when Ira had gotten close to an open window. 'So loud,' Ira thought as she opened the door wand shuffled inside.
