It was another boring day. Ira had finished her homework at school today because there was not math because of a test. With her free time, she decided to add some lining to her arteries with pure saturated fat and calories.
Entering the "restaurant", Ira was attacked by the familiar smell of oil and meat that was common among fast food places.
She stood in line behind a rather short girl. Her blue hair was somehow familiar...'Is that Hiro?' Tilting her head slightly, she tried to figure out if that really was Hiro.
When the man at the counter asked her what her order was going to be, she stuttered, "I-I would l-like chicken McNuggets a-and a Sprite...please."
'That's Hiro. Only she would be timid while ordering food.'
"Yo! Hiro!" exclaimed Ira as she grabbed the other girl's shoulder.
*OOC: This sucks poop...don't blame the idiot*

Midori sighed a bit and placed his hands in his pockets a bit impatiently. "C'mon Hiro, everyone's staring." he breathed out under his breath so no one would be able to hear besides his student. He looked towards Hiro through the corner of his eyes and watched as she fidgeted uncomfortably in her place while her gaze scanned the menu.
"I-I would l-like chicken McNuggets a-and a Sprite...please."
"Diet coke." Midori stated bluntly. He wasn't much of a fast food eater, so it was one of those rare times where Hiro would persuade him to go out and eat lunch with her. His hand unconciously dug into his pocket and pulled out a $20 bill, slapping it on the counter and picking up the receip.
"Yo! Hiro!"
He arched a brow as a girl, no doubt a friend of Hiro's, had grabbed his student's shoulder, making her flinch a bit from shock. No surprise.

"I-I would l-like chicken McNuggets a-and a Sprite...please." Hiro uttered nervously, fidgeting under the hard look that Midori was giving her. She knew that he was an impatient person from past experiances of playing the piano in front of him. Midori was often stern and strict when it came to...anything. If she had done something bad, he pursed his lips and looked away. If she had done something good or exceptional, he'd nod his head and walk away.
"Diet Coke." Midori answered bluntly to the cashier.
'He sounds upset!' Hiro winced in her mind. 'Maybe, it was because I convinced him to come eat lunch with me!' She had known that he wasn't much of a fast-food person, but had hoped that he would become less socially inept.
She opened her mouth to say something but instead, was met by a small squeak of surprise. "Yo! Hiro!"
Hiro turned around a bit too quickly, still a bit shaken and had instantly recognized the voice. "H-Hello I-Ira-san!" she smiled.

"H-Hello I-Ira-san!" Stammered Hiro as she turned around. Her friend's reaction was quicker than what Ira had expected, so she kind of twitched in a response.
"Hi Hiro," she smiled. After meeting the one girl so many times, Ira had grown accustomed to her. Ira hadn't yet noticed the man standing next to Hiro and continued to rudely ignore him.
"What are you doing here? I never suspected you as the type to by this kind of heart-clogging junk unless you were starving. I mean, you do like your brother's random experiments and all," noted Ira. She just studied Hiro as she fidgeted under the man's gaze.
Finally noticing him, Ira spoke. "Oh, I'm sorry. I'm Ira Mirai. Who are you?"

Noticing that he had no role in the conversation, which he had somehow been thankful for, Midori turned back around to pick up his and Hiro's order that had been recently called. Picking up the tray in his hands steadily, he gave a stern (which is actually normal for him) to Hiro to tell her to hurry it up a bit.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I'm Mirai Ira. Who are you?"
It was a blunt way to ask, but it wasn't like he could give it out any better. Bowing a bit so that the food doesn't spill, Midori replied unhastily, much unlike his apprentice.
"I am Sano Midori. I'm not sure you have heard of me before."
It was odd to find that someone had asked him his name. His music was known from throughout the country and he was known as the 'Prodigy'. But, not everyone could have the time or advantage of being able to listen to music, he guessed.
"Hiro-san, actually, works at my Music Shop." he added before she could question how he and Hiro knew each other. "We were only here to eat lunch." Midori paused for a moment to place the tray at a table before turning back to Ira.
"Would you like to join us?" Since Hiro had dragged him here for some social practicing, he might as well work to it.

"We were only here to eat lunch." Hiro looked at him a little guilty. It must have been him trying to express his point that he wasn't going to try any type of social adjustments anytime soon. She sighed a bit but accepted it. Midori just wasn't a people person and there was nothing she could do about it. Trailing him like a lost puppy, she sat down at the table he had picked by random and smiled anxiously at her friend.
"Would you like to join us?"
This shocked her.
Hiro stared at Midori with wide eyes, her mouth almost entirely agape. He looked a bit flustered but had no blush, and by the crease of his eyebrow was frowning uncomfortably to himself. Working for him for two months now, she was the only one that could tell when he was displeased or feeling awkward. Midori had always been good at hiding his emotions.
She turned towards Ira, a happy and cheerful smile spread across her face. "Yes! P-Please join us Ira-san!" she ushered excitedly. Sliding to the side of her seat, she motioned her to sit next to her with a wide grin. Whispering 'itadikimasu' quickly, Hiro reached over and started to eat her Mcnuggets as though there was no tomorrow.

"I am Sano Midori. I'm not sure you have heard of me before."
Ira's eyes widened slightly before going back to normal. 'Sano Midori...as in that great pianist Sano Midori?' Ira knew the name from constantly listening to music. She didn't know all of the man's songs or even who he really was. It wasn't her thing to go crazy over one musician or band and them try and learn everything about them, so hearing that such a young person could be such a prosperous musician.
'Why is he here with Hiro?' wondered the girl as she looked back and forth from her classmate to Sano.
He answered Ira's question before she could ask it. "Hiro-san, actually, works at my Music Shop," Sano added before finding his was to a table. He placed a tray down that held both Hiro's order and another drink.
'He works quick,' noted Ira as she looked at the tray. The man had picked up the orders while she was greeting Hiro.
"Would you like to join us?" offered Sano. He didn't strike Ira as the kind of person who would just make such offers like having a meal with a perfect stranger. Sano didn't look like he was entirely sure of this offer himself.
Before Ira could say anything, Hiro broke in. "Yes! P-Please join us Ira-san!" She said this quickly while scooting over in the booth to give Ira space to sit.
Looking back at Sano's face to make sure he didn't totally oppose the idea, Ira nodded. "Thanks. I think I will. Let me just get my order first." With that, she turned around to get back into the line.

*THUMP!*
Midori knocked his forehead to their table and kept his emotions hidden faced down. Low murmuring could be heard from underneath but was too unrecognizeable to be translated into proper English. He raised his head up, letting his eyes revert back to his original stony look while his dark hair was pushed up and a red mark appeared on his forehead.
"I'm fine." He muttered to answer Hiro's predictable question. Midori brought his elbows up to the table and propped his cheek up with his arm, the flustered look he had on his face suddenly gone. It took too much strain for him to try and be social, though he knew he was a lost cause. So he was a bit socially inactive, what was the big deal in that? It's not like he was a complete idiot when it came to strangers. The human nature wasn't hard to predict when it came to prodigies like him.
His gaze shifted to Hiro as he gave her a mildly hard look as if he were saying 'This is all your fault...'. If she weren't so happy by him just trying to be a regular person, he would have quit a long while ago. Better, he wouldn't have even tried in the first place. Though his glare was still set on her, Hiro's happy and ditzy smile seemed to void any of his attempts at making her feel guilty. She either was good at completely ignoring Midori's glares now, or she was too happy to notice.
He sighed and gave up, not something he'd do everyday. Unconciously, Midori's hand reached over for his soda but met with her drink and took a sip of her soda without even realizing it. Not that he had really cared in the first place.
"When did Diet Coke taste this weird?" Midori wondered out loud.

Hiro nodded in understanding to Ira's leave for her food but was quickly interrupted by a loud knocking sound. She turned her questioning attention back to Midori who had, for some reason, hit his head against their table. "EH?! M-M-Midori no danna...?!" she stammered in confusion. Had there been something wrong with him? Did he need an aspirin? Or his inhaler?
She fumbled in anxiety to reach inside her pocket for his inhaler but was cut off by him with an 'I'm fine.'
"O-Oh..." Hiro muttered in relief, sliding the inhaler back into her pocket and sitting back with more ease. A happy smile spread across her face again once she remembered his awkward attempt to communicate with people. It had been a pleasant surprise for her. Apparantly, it wasn't for him by the glare that he was giving her. She was completely numb of it though, her glee was overbearingly showing at the moment.
Suddenly feeling thirsty from her panic attack just moments before, Hiro reached out for her Sprite. A hand suddenly snatched it away, making her squeak a bit in surprise but then stare at him in shock and her mouth wide open. Midori just took a sip out of HER drink!
She watched, frozen in her seat, as he unconciously set her drink down and smacked his dry lips wet. "When did Diet Coke taste this weird?"
Hiro smiled blankly as she could only picture what he would do as punishment if she told him that it wasn't a Diet soda of any kind. Her hands shook a bit as she trembled, still in shock. "Th-Th-That's m-my...S-S-Sprite..." Hiro said, whispering a bit when she had said 'Sprite'.
There goes $1.50, flying out of her pocket.

The line that had already been short was now nearly nothing. Ira only had to wait for a minute before it was her turn. She ordered medium fries and Dr. Pepper and stepped out of the line to wait for her meal. 'Odd seeing Hiro here. I hadn't known she worked at the music store too. She keeps herself busier than I would ever want.'
By now her order was ready, so Ira just picked up the tray and walked back to the table where Sano and Hiro were waiting. She had come just in time to hear Hiro mutter "Th-Th-That's m-my...S-S-Sprite..."
Not wanting to do anything that might surprise Hiro or annoy Sano, she just stood there, at the edge of the table, looking like a confused fool. "What did I miss in ninety seconds?' Hiro was still staring at the Sprite that was presumably her's. While standing there, Ira looked back and forth like the pendulum in a grandfather clock, from the Sprite to Hiro's sullen expression.
"Hey," she said, finally alerting the other two of her presence. Sliding into the booth next to Hiro, she took her drink of the tray she was holding and placed it on the table in front of Hiro. When she looked up to say something, Ira merely shrugged.
"So, Sano, you like Sprite or Coke better?"

"Th-Th-That's m-my...S-S-Sprite..."
"Hm?" Midori arched an eyebrow a bit as he continued to sip at the soda unconciously. His gaze shifted over to Hiro, whose attention was at the drink he had currently held in his hand. Realization struck him like a hammer on a nail right then and there.
"Oh...gomen." He apologized bluntly, handing Hiro his drink instead of her own since he had 'contaminated' hers with his germs. He hadn't a taste for any food or drink like soda unless it was organic, or in this case, diet. But since he just wasted a dollar fifty from her, he might as well give her his own. He wasn't quite sure whether or not she had a liking for Diet Coke, but it wasn't like he enjoyed Sprite very much. It didn't taste bad or anything, just...different.
"Hey," a voice came, turning his attention towards the owner.
"Hn. Hey." Midori greeted back, glancing at Ira for a second and then turning back to his new drink. The hardness of his gaze never turned down a bit as she slid into the seat next to Hiro while his student was still fidgeting uncomfortably, something that bothered him a bit when they were playing.
"So, Sano, do you like Sprite or Coke better?"
Midori leaned back into his chair, unaffected by odd or out-of-place questions from experiance with teaching random students for years now. Resting his hand on his chin in a thoughtful position, he replied simply. "Either is fine, really. I haven't tasted either since I was a kid, so it brings nostalgia whenever I drink a sip. I wouldn't say I prefer one over the other, but I don't hate either of them."
His stare seemed to turn into the off-distance look as Midori looked to the side a bit. It was rare whenever he had done so, but it had always meant he was thinking about something important that hadn't anything to do with his work. Now that she had brought it up, when WAS the last time he had any real soda? Or real anything?

Hiro smiled a bit anxiously and tensed at Midori's answer. 'S-Such a long and thoughtful answer f-for a really s-simple question...!' she thought in surprise.
Midori must have still been a bit uptight about the whole 'social' thing. His face surely didn't show any emotions of irritations when it came to that though. Possibly because he was already pretty talented at hiding his facial expressions. Or, it was just his personality for his long answers.
Hiro relaxed a bit when she realized that there was nothing to be so nervous about. Sure, she was 'forcing' him to come out of his shell a bit and become more of a people person. But she did it with good intentions at least...right?
Feeling some anxiety about to come back, Hiro forced herself to relax some more by smiling. It started out a little nervous, and then gentle, and soon became wide and happy.
Her cheeks were still flustered, she knew. But it wasn't like she could do anything about it. Hiro figured that it was just part of Midori's charm and personality of acting that way. He was socially clueless, afterall. A question such as 'favorites' were to be answered simply for the other person to learn about one another. It wasn't to be taken too seriously at any given moment. Not that it bothered her much. Hiro was rather use to what normal people would call 'strange' behaviors. It'd become pretty casual to her since she had to deal with her brother on a daily basis.
Not to mention, she was one to talk. Her stuttering and usually shocked demeanor had occured for her more often than that or an 'average' person's.
"I-I like both." Hiro added quietly to the question with a small smile. She leaned more on the Sprite side but enjoyed both drinks either way. Soda was soda.
"Ano, which one do y-you like, Ira-san?"

Sano leaned back in his seat, getting into somewhat of a thoughtful pose with his hand underneath his chin. "Either is fine, really. I haven't tasted either since I was a kid, so it brings nostalgia whenever I drink a sip. I wouldn't say I prefer one over the other, but I don't hate either of them."
"Oh," nodded Ira as she chewed quietly on a fry. Her face was blank. She stared at the rest of the fry in between her fingers- her mind as blank as her stare. It was a pretty odd answer, but Ira didn't expect anything too different. She threw the question out there unexpectedly for no reason. It had just popped into her head when she noticed that Sano was drinking Sprite.
'Why the heck did I ask that?' Ira asked herself mentally. 'Was it supposed to be curious or a jab at the fact that Sano was sipping Hiro's drink? Why do I NOT know the answer to that?' She was frowning now, bringing her brows together, making her gaze on the fry considerably harsher. 'I am supposed to know why I do things! I'm the one that does them for crying out loud!'
There was silence at the table for a moment after the man's answer.
"I-I like both," added Hiro quietly, stirring Ira's attention. "Ano, which one do y-you like, Ira-san?"
"Eh, neither really. I'm into tea and regular juices," she stated bluntly. After thinking it over again, she added, "But if I had to chose, I would say Coke." Looking to the fry again, Ira blinked a few times. 'That answer was too long....'
The girl glanced at Hiro's salty meal and Sano's drink. "Sano, why aren't you eating?"

"Sano, why aren't you eating?"
Resisting the urge to roll his eyes, Midori reached over swiftly and grabbed a piece of chicken McNugget from Hiro's box and took a bite out of it. Like soda, he wasn't much of a fan of fast foods.
He basically did out of the ordinary things to watch his student fidget because it was funny. It only amused him to no end by just watching Hiro flinch uncomfortably of having no choice but to let him free load off of her. He was her boss, after all.
It didn't really seem to matter either way. She had barely even touched the food that she ordered. Midori suspected that she had chosen something that she hadn't particularly liked under the pressure he put her against while ordering.
A chuckle tickled his throat but he held it down, his mouth still full with greasy chicken. Swallowing the substance people called 'food', he quickly drank some Sprite to wash it[[and the fatty flavor]] down. Shrugging at Ira's question, he gave her an entertained smirk which was rarely found on his stoic face.
"I'm eating now, aren't I?"
His gaze hadn't shifted from Ira to Hiro since he suspected that 1) she was still fidgeting...or 2) she was attempting to glare at him in annoyance but was failing miserably. "Tch." Midori scoffed quietly, suddenly picturing a timid, shaking mouse trying to scare the large, dominant cat.
Cutting her off, he pointed at the 'food' and with a bored look, ordered Hiro. "Eat." he said bluntly. And no, he wasn't going to stop ''ing 'food' anytime soon.

Hiro fidgeted uncomfortably in her seat which, by her prediction, Sano had already gotten use to it and actually anticipated it by the amused look he had on his face as he ate her food. She tried her best to glare at him but failed miserably at that since she rarely had time to practice her 'mean face'. Sano seemed to have predicted that as well and let out a scoff. Biting her lips down to resist making a sarcastic comment (as if she could) and took a sip from her/Sano's soda. It tasted a bit foreign to her, as though pieces of the flavor was missing, but she ignored it and continued to quench her sudden thirst from being so nervous.
It hadn't been such a big deal, really. Hiro wasn't that hungry for greasy chicken anyways. She didn't feel the hunger that was stored inside her, but her stomache let her know that quite loudly. A deep rumbling and growling sound came from the pit of her belly and instantly, Sano directed the food to her with a blunt order. "Eat."
"H-Hai!" She squeaked quietly, quickly following his motion and taking a bite out of the McNuggets. Hiro almost winced at her choice of selection. It didn't taste bad, it was rather good. But she could feel the grease being squeezed out of the piece of chicken and down her throat which gave her that sickly feeling. Almost gagging after the last McNugget, she quickly reached for the Diet Coke and washed it all down. Anything was better than that at the moment.
Wiping her mouth clear from any oily stains or soda markings, Hiro decided that perhaps it was time for a change. "Ano, if y-you two are d-done with lunch, shall w-we visit the mall? I d-don't think I e-even remember th-the last time I-I went there. We could g-go see a movie, or something..." she suggested.
