"There...I'm glad that's over with."
Itachi sighed as he plopped himself down on the couch, half exhausted and back acheing. The apartment was finally spotless and free of dust. His clothes were stained and dirty, despite the fact that he even wore a pink apron and a spotted bandana (complimentary of his mother). Raising a gloved hand, Itachi sighed as he removed the cloth from his hair and throw it to the other couch across from him.
Yes, even Uchiha Itachi cleans.
He could have just hired a maid to do the work for him, leaving him with time for his own use. He, assuringly, had the money to nonetheless. But a female maid would swoon over him in no time and beg to come over and clean the place for free. He didn't mind the free cleaning. But he did mind the lustful girl. And even if he called for a cleaning butler, it'd all be the same. Feeling no energy to actually get up and cook his lunch, Itachi bent over and picked up the phone on the coffee table, ignoring the pain of his muscles when he did.
Some said he was heartless and didn't feel any emotions. That he was so tough as to not feeling any pain physically and mentally. Well he could very well laugh in their faces now. Pressing the numbers, he waited for just five rings until the phone on the other end was picked up.
"I'd like a medium pepperoni pizza with mushrooms please. A bottle of pepsi too if you have it."

"Yes sir. One medium with pepperoni and mushrooms and a Pepsi. Will that be all?" The pizzeria's cashier was on the phone taking another order. Ira only paid minor attention to this trivial fact because it was unfortunately her duty to deliver the pizzas that were ordered. She needed the money to survive, but that didn't mean the girl had to like her job.
"Hoi! Ira, another order for you!" shouted the cashier as soon as he slammed down the phone. "It's at the apartment complex in residential area."
"Fine with me," she replied. I guess this guy doesn't get to read the applications. I live in that complex, moron. She picked up the pizza that was already prepared and a bottle of Pepsi on the way out the door. Carefully placing the foodstuffs in her bike's carrier basket, she mounted and was off.
It was a cool night and Ira didn't mind the ride. She wasn't too tired yet since not many people were ordering delivery pizzas that night. Coasting to a stop in the parking lot, Ira removed the pizza and soda from her bike and ascended the stairs leading to the customer's home.
I wonder if I can start on tomorrow's homework when I get home. Rapping lightly on a plain door, Ira waited for a reply. At least I got here in ten minutes.

Itachi groaned inwardly to himself when he heard a knock on his door. How stupid. He forgot the part where he has to get up again to answer. Sighing slightly, he forced himself up and walked(more like dragged) himself to get his food. What he saw behind the door surprised him a little but he didn't show it. A young student of his assistant teacher job was at his door with his pizza and soda in hand.
"Ira, are you even old enough to hold a job?" Itachi asked straight forwardly. Normally, he wasn't one to stay and chat. Only to pay for the food and a small tip without any word if he was feeling no less agrivated like usual. Sometimes, when he's more irritated by his boss, Itachi would take the pizza, throw money at the person, and slam the door in their faces. But tonight he wasn't irritated. Well, maybe just a bit. But not up to the point where he would spout out crude comments at whoever dared bother him. He was more of the...intrigued side.
"Aren't you suppose to be at home doing your homework?" Itachi asked, half interrogated.

HOLY CRAPPING COW! Ira was so shocked that she almost cursed out loud. "Itachi-sensei!" she exlaimed. Never in her life would she have guessed that she lived in the same apartment complex as her teacher. It seemed from the expression on her teacher's usually stoic face that he to shared that sentiment.
"Ira, are you even old enough to hold a job?" he inquired. She hadn't gotten back into the right state of mind yet and therefore could not answer. Ira was not one who was easily shaken up, affected by anything, so this was an odd experience.
Finally finding her voice, Ira answered ,"Well I actually am sir." She recomposed herself and forced the shock out of her eyes. He's just a customer right now. Don't get excited. She had avoided making contact with any of her teachers since she got to Konoha High and didn't intend to reveal any more than what her school record already told.
Itachi still had on an expression of curiosity, so Ira didn't expect to get away unless she really worked. "Aren't you suppose to be at home doing your homework?" he asked again.
"I've finished my work already," lied the student. It wasn't entirely a lie though; only a half lie. Ira was quick with her work and had actually finished more than half of her assignments during the lunch break at school. There were some perks of being a seclusive loner and they included having spare time to do work. Ira prefered this as an alternative to mindlessly chatting with other students about unimportant things.
Itachi didn't look like he believed his student. Being a teacher that was surrounded by students daily, he probably already could tell when one was lying. this isn't mentioning his sharingan either.

Tilting his head to the right a bit, Itachi folded his arms across his chest and stared at Ira's expression.
"You're lying."
As some of his friends have noticed before but didn't bother saying so, he was blunt. Of course, this satisfaction of finding his student out faded quickly when he noticed something extremely important....he was still wearing the pink apron.
Ouch, there goes his pride.
Swiftly and quickly, Itachi took off his-correction, his mother's- apron and threw it somewhere to the side. He'd clean it up later(more like burn it)...How dare he forget about it and end up leading it to an embarassing situation as of right now. Its even worse for his student. Imagine a young teenage girl delivering pizza at night and find her teacher in a pink apron trying to act all cool...
It's not a pretty sight. She'd probably go back to school and tell everyone about it unless he bribed (or threatened) her to keep her mouth shut. Of course, considering Itachi's been evaluating his students and their personalities, Ira didn't seem like a person who would be the kind to gossip about other's embarassing situation.
But still, this UNUCHIHA-ISH sight! If Sasuke found out, he'd never be able to come back to the apartment. Thank god he was out doing whatever his business was again. Probably hanging out with that TenTen girl or something. Again...this was just...embarassing. How unmanly. Wearing your mother's old pink flower apron.
"Forget you ever saw that." Itachi replied monotonously to Ira and proceeded to look cool and stoic.

Finally regaining her composure, Ira noticed something odd about her teacher. He usually wore simple clothes; Neat, nice, and normal. Ira had liked that about him. He wasn't one of the older teachers that wore odd things and spoke all about their personal lives.
Today was different. He wore casual clothes that looked great on him- not that Ira cared about that- but over them, he donned a hot pink apron!
Not seeming to care or perhaps notice, Itachi crossed his arms over his chest, thingying his head to the side.
"You're lying," he replied sounding a bit smug.
Ira was correct about her teacher's intuition. I expected as much from an Uchiha....though the apron is unexpected. The short student feigned innocence, as she had done millions of times before.
"What are you talking about? I'm done. You can't prove otherwise," Ira said, pretending to be shocked.
Itachi was about to say something when his eyes bulged with surprise. He quickly yanked off the pink monstrosity that was hanging around his neck and threw it off to the side; it was now somewhere behind the doorway where Ira could no longer see it. The student -aid sighed with relief for no obvious reason before continuing the conversation.
He said in a stern, monotonous voice, "Forget you ever saw that." This made Ira certain that Itachi was embarrassed, but she wasn't one to pour salt into an open wound. She only stood, looking up at him.
"Saw what, Sensei?"
With that, the teacher grinned, shaking his head. "Oh nothing. I'm jut a bit tired is all."

And he WAS tired. Tired of all this stupid cleaning when Sasuke was just going to come home wiping McDonald's grease stains everywhere from his job. But, he had nothing better to do at least. It actually gave him a peaceful state of mind when his area was spotless. He hadn't noticed it before but it really offered a good thinking place. Forcing himself to smile, he mentally sighed in relief when Ira had gone along like he wanted.
"Thanks for the pizza." Itachi uttered with a breath as he took the pizza and soda, thankfulness glinting in his eyes even though his face reverted to its stoic features. He felt something then. Like he owed her something...Dear Kami, I hate you. Stepping back, he opened the door more and stood up straight, looking like some waiter about to serve pizza.
"Would you like to come in...?" Itachi forced himself to ask with a smile as to not being rude. He was extremely good at these things considering all the dinner parties his father had made him go to. He absolutely hated those dinners. Fake people pretending to be friends. The occasional accidental 'Plastic-nose-falling-off-of-a-woman's-face-and-into-her-soup.' It was really believable now since eating pizza wasn't half as bad as all that.
Thank god.

After all that time, Ira was still the one holding the pizza and soda. The first of which was cooling off.
"Thanks for the pizza," breathed Itachi as he finally took the items from Ira's hands. He had gone back to his normal facial expression. One that was calm, cold, and stern. Though his mouth and face revealed nothing, his eyes held a curious glint. Ira noticed the oddity, but could not decipher it's meaning. Then, instead of going through the routine of paying the delivery girl and closing the door, Itachi stood back, opened the door wider, and straightened up.
Then, shining a bright, professional smile, he asked politely, "Would you like to come in...?"
For the second time of the night, Ira was taken aback. Confused as to why her teacher would want to invite her into his home, so hesitated before answering. Is he just being polite?
Thought the girl thought it was a strange idea, she realized she hadn't eaten anything since her dismal lunch of fried chicken at school. Also, when she had left the pizzeria, she only had 15 minutes on the clock left. She could just go home now, but didn't want her teacher to ever find out she lived anywhere near him.
"Yes, please," Ira answered slowly.
Itachi continued holding the door open, expecting his student to enter quickly. Instead, the freshman removed her shoes, taking only a step towards the door.
"Well? Coming?" asked the man.
Once again, Ira hesitated. "Yes."
With that, she walked all the way into the newly cleaned apartment. That was evident from the faint smell of floor cleaner and that still lingered in the air. The little pink apron was still on the floor where it had been hastily thrown earlier.
Other than that, the apartment was spotless. The tables shined, not a speck of dust on their tops. The floors smooth and glistening in the light. Itachi moved swiftly to a round wooden table near the entrance to what looked like a kitchen and placed the pizza and Pepsi down. After, he moved to the kitchen, from which Ira heard the sounds of opening cabinets and dishes clinking.
Looking around curiously from her position near the door, Ira just remembered something that might be important.
"Itachi-sensei, isn't Sasuke-sempai your younger brother?"

Itachi hesitated what he was doing for a brief moment and stopped as he was about to pour the soda in a glass cup. Without looking up, he continued his task before he could appear hesitant. "Yes..." he said clearly with no more distractions in his voice.
Somehow picking up two glasses of soda and two plates of pizza slices, he set them on the coffee table in front of the T.V. His living room consisted of many expensive furnitures but looked modern nonetheless. The table was made of dark wood and the center was a large clear glass with a wise description on it, barely noticeable. The couches were a clean plain white color with a smooth black structure. Itachi wasn't stupid. He knew he was rich. It just occured to him that he didn't care if other's wanted to find out about him. He wasn't one to brag (or talk at all most of the time)
"Why do you ask?" Itachi responded, sitting down carefully on the couch and motioning Ira to join him. Ira could be another one of his younger brother's admirers, for all he knew, since it was a large possibility. But with his attitude towards them all, it slimmed down to zero to none. It would be amusing to find Sasuke walking in when he specifically told him not to allow any females inside their apartment. Yes, Itachi knew. And he wasn't much of a nosy know it all either. His brother could be so obvious sometimes. Leaning back casually, and unlike himself in any manner, Itachi raised an eyebrow at his young student.
"Do you live nearby here?" he asked.

Itachi didn't answer Ira for a moment, seemingly distracted by his task of readying the food and drinks. While pouring the soda, he answered simply, "Yes..."
He moved to the couch in the living room, carrying the drinks and plates by himself in one trip. Ira didn't make a move to assist him, too wrapped up in thought.
Pulling her out of her own mind, Itachi questioned, "Why do you ask?" as he sat down on the rather expensive looking couch. He turned to face his student and motioned for her to join him.
She complied without saying a word. That explains why the two look so alike
"No reason, Itachi-sensei. You two just had the same last name...." Ira's words stopped in her mouth as her mind began to wonder again.
Itachi leaned back on the couch, getting comfortable. He had a right since this was his home. He watched his student and raised an eyebrow. He seemed to be wondering something himself.
Unlike Ira, the man voiced his thoughts. "Do you live nearby here?"
Ira turned her entire body to face her teacher. She didn't answer for several seconds. I didn't want him to ask that. Why is it things I don't want to happen always happen? She stared blankly at him, brows furrowed slightly, as she thought. I can't very well lie. He can find out on his own, and when he does, I'll be in terrible trouble.
"Yes...very near here actually." Ira was not used to carrying conversation as she had been for a while now. Even when she was with Ren, she hadn't found the need to talk much or voice anything. Ren understood her well enough that the two hadn't needed to trade words. The experience was...difficult.

Itachi raised the glass to his lips, unable to lose his formal act of drinking, and nodded in understanding. Setting the glass down on the table, he leaned back once again to comfort himself on the couch.
"So I presume you won't need an escort to get you home safely considering that its almost 7:00?"
It was more like a statement than an answer, but it didn't matter otherwise. It wasn't of his business to interfere with other people's lives. But lately, Itachi's been thinking about what he has really done for people. Absolutely nothing. Nothing that he couldn't have gotten in return at least. Everything he has done in his life was because there was an advantage for him. It didn't appeal to him at all now that he thought about it.
Itachi's eyes lingered back to Ira unnoticeably as he took bites out of his pizza. She was new, he knew that. She was distant, he could see that. And yet, she was still an acceptional student in class. It reminded him slightly of a certain little brother of his.
Actually, they kind of acted alike as well. Except Ira didn't have the air of dignity around her or the stuck up attitude. It was strange how alike they were yet how different. She was still a mystery. Nobody had known where she came from or why she came to this different school.
Normally, he would have followed the 'mind your own business rule' but- with Itachi being Itachi- his curiosity and air of arrogance got the better of him. "Why did you transfer to Konoha?"
He needs more practice.

Before answering, Itachi picked up one of the glasses of Pepsi and raised it to his lips, drinking slowly. Placing the glass back on the dark coffee table, he returned to his earlier laid back position.
"So I presume you won't need an escort to get you home safely considering that its almost 7:00?" This was not a question. Perhaps it was, but Ira was not yet used to the man's tones. She didn't care about them in class, so she didn't put in the effort to try and figure out the difference in questions and just rhetoric.
"No." Ira was debating about adding 'sensei' in the end, but decided against it. This isn't a classroom, so I suppose there is no need for formalities other than to be polite. It's not like I would need assistance in getting anywhere...even if I lived miles away.
Ira was still sitting with a straight back, not wanting to slouch in the strange house. Itachi had started eating his pizza, which signaled that Ira could follow. Taking small bites of the pepperoni and mushroom covered slice, her mind once again began to wonder. Itachi was not speaking, and didn't seem to notice Ira anymore. I wonder what I've got to do in class tomorrow. Mostly she was a bit afraid of making contact with a certain boy in her homeroom which made a strange scene on her very first day.
The two finished their pizzas in silence, each one thinking about totally separate subjects.
Itachi, putting down the plate and wiping his non-greasy fingers clean, was still in thought. It was not apparent on his face, but it was Ira's only explanation for the silence. Once again, she hadn't paid enough attention in her classes to know what each teachers' expressions meant either. How the heck does anyone try and dissect a guarded face like that? Frowning, Ira put down her empty plate and wipe her fingers as well.
Ending the silence, the teacher asked, "Why did you transfer to Konoha?"
This question irked Ira back into the conversation immediately. Her face lips taut and eyes narrow, she replied slowly. "No...reason."
Itachi was obviously not content with her answer, and perhaps even surprised by her abrupt mood change. Ira could not answer this one question fully herself. Why must I explain my actions to a teacher?!? All the girl really knew was that she needed to leave Sunagakura, and did.
Let him figure that one out himself.

"Another lie..." Itachi whispered to himself in his mind. He unconciously stared off into the distance once more, a sign showing that he was deep in thought. It had been this way since forever but he only took recognition in it when Sasori had asked him of his view on art.
He bent over and picked up another slice of pizza, a slightly larger one this time. If only people could cut a pizza the correct way for once. This was an irrelevant thought, but Itachi's been thinking irrelevant-ish lately. Ira, Itachi had concluded, was a rather indignant girl...a bit mysterious too. But, from Momochi's detail, also a short tempered one at that sometimes. If she chose not to reveal too much about her past, it was her choice. It wasn't his business to press others about their personal lives, nor was it part of his usual personality.
An awkward silence shrouded over them as they ate. Nothing more to talk about, nothing more to say-he thought. It wasn't a right for him to intrude on a teenage girl's life. And one of his student's at that. So he forced himself to quiet himself down before asking anymore idiotic questions. In return, Ira had not asked any questions either. It was an odd thing because of by how mysterious Itachi normally was, people would usually ask him anything personal about his life.
If he was married yet, about his job, how much he gets paid, if he and Sasuke fought a lot. These were the most popular questions he's gotten. But lately, people that were close to him(as close as they can get) has been asking odd and out of the ordinary things lately. Nothing about the obvious and what can be viewed. But about what he thinks about most of the time and what his opinion on things really were. It intruiged him in a weird way and yet, at the same time, he was grateful for it.

Ira's sensei did not say anything after that. Itachi didn't even move. Sitting there, in his laid back position, he just stared. Not at anything in particular, but just had his eyes fixated on a spot as he thought. Perhaps I went to far. The student was back to being calm and turned to the window by the door. She regretted having been so stern in answering the simple question. I'm still touchy about that subject I suppose.
Itachi was still in his strange trance. He went to the table and picked up another slice of pizza, and returned to the couch. Ira chose to just sit and sip at her soda.
Some could call the silence that took over then awkward, but Ira thought it pleasant. She didn't like having to stumble through conversations, so the span of time where neither Itachi nor Ira spoke was openly welcome by at least one of the two. Ira thought about asking things of her sensei as to be polite- to keep the conversation going, but thought better of it. I should get home and finish my work. Now I'm just imposing on Itachi-sensei.
Ira sat, waiting for Itachi to finish his food. To her surprise, the teacher didn't eat that much. She concluded that most grown men ate around 5 slices, from Ira's experience with them at school and work. Itachi, unlike the average adult ate two. I should have guessed by now that Itachi-sensei was not at all average. She grinned slightly, amused by her own thickness.
"Sensei, I have to go now. Thank you for the pizza, but I've got school tomorrow and I think we both need the sleep." This was actually not at all true. Ira lived off of a mere 6 hours of sleep a day, and felt lively enough with that amount. She just needed to leave before Itachi decided to get curious again.
Getting up off the couch, Ira stood for a moment, frowning once again. I guess this pizza's on me.

Itachi's strange 'strance-like' state was interrupted when Ira stood up-neither too courteous or rude. His eyes followed her movement while she excused herself politely, yet informally, enough to go home and work on her school work. He, being a student teacher, nodded in understanding and waved his hand as a sign of dismissal.
His body ached again, mainly his arms though. Carrying all his old junk out of his room was meant to be moderately easy, but not when it carried out for more than a two hours time. Inwardly wincing, Itachi was glad that he had already paid for the pizza rather then getting up and giving Ira the money. He had sneakily retrieved the money from his pocket-enough for the pizza and some tip- and slipped it inside Ira's pocket while she walked past him into his apartment.
Sighing silently, Itachi forced himself to stand up to bow as a polite sign of departure. Even to one of his students, he was accustomed to doing so. If only he could show the same kind of etiquette to his friends, but, they wouldn't be exactly called his friends now would they?
"Good bye." Itachi said with his head still bowing down low. He raised it up and gave her one of his 'friendly' smiles(which barely counts as one). "Study hard and sleep well."
