[[Okay, it's about 10:00 pm and I don't want to sleep yet. So this is my time filler, also my first oneshot for any fanfic ever. This is a SasuHina by the way. If you don't like this couple, I'm sorry. I think it's pretty cute myself, not that I think it's going to happen anytime soon...It's shorter than it looks so please bare with me...]]
Birds chirped lightly outside the Hyuuga Mansion, perched ontop of the 2nd branch right outside a window of a violet haired Hinata. It was already fairly late into the morning, but she had taken no heed to it.
Normally, Hinata would have been up and ready to go at once considering she was much of a morning person. But this time was an exception. She allowed herself to lay underneath covers and covers of blankets, using her pillow to shield herself from the sunlight that 'invaded' itself into her room.
She absolutely, positively did not want to get up any time soon. The shy Hyuuga had been feverish for three days now and it hasn't gotten any better quite yet. Just as sleep was about to take over her once again, her phone rang and made her head throb in pain. Reluctantly, Hinata reached over and picked up the phone.
"H-Hello?" She answered, her nose stuffy and audiable, as she reached to her forehead and rubbed it miserably.
"Hinata, I'm coming over." came a deep, stern voice.
"Wh-What? Sasuke?" Hinata asked in surprise. Sasuke wasn't normally a morning person but considering it was almost noon, there was no reason to question him. "Sasuke, you don't have to. Y-You'll get sick and-"
The sound of the phone hanging up cut her off.
Hinata tried to call him again so he didn't have to come over, but decided that it'd be futile either way. He was pretty hard headed when it came to this and it wasn't going to change. Tch, what a pride...
After several minutes, a doorbell ring was heard, followed by footsteps, talking, arguing, and then slamming of the door. Hinata figured that it was Neji that had answered when Sasuke was there. They hadn't really hit it off well when he found out she was dating an Uchiha, but Neji had tolerated her desicion...even if he didn't tolerate the person.
"God, he's a prick..." came a voice from her windowsill. Hinata quickly turned her head to see who was there, but instantly regretted doing so. Her head throbbed in pain again from the sudden blood rush, making her squint her eyes in pain.
Hinata peeked open one of her eyes to see that Sasuke had climbed up the side of her house into her room. He had his usual cool, relaxed look but with a slight irritation in his eye. A sign that he had either met with Naruto or Neji. And she highly doubted that Naruto would be inside the walls of the Hyuuga mansion anytime soon.
"N-Neji-niisan?" she guessed, giggling quietly when Sasuke scrunched his nose slightly as an answer. His face relaxed once again as he walked over to her and sat her bedside. Laying a hand on her forehead, he sighed.
"Your fever hasn't gotten any better. Are you sure you're taking your medicine?" he asked 'motherly' [XD lol], which was very uncharacterstic of him.
Hinata merely nodded slightly and pulled the covers halfway over the face, feeling chills run down her spine once again. Sasuke seemed displeased at her answer, as though he was going to have to pay the consequences.
Leaving the room and shutting the door lightly, Hinata listened as he paused for a moment on the look out for Neji and then descend down the stairs. She was all too curious as to what he could be doing but at the same time too sick to pay attention.
Footsteps walked up the stairs once again towards her room. Hinata peeked through the covers to see Sasuke walking through her door with blankets over one hand and bowl of soup in the other. He laid the blankets over her shivering body and practically shoved the soup to her.
"Eat it." He ordered bluntly. Hinata perced her lips, unable to find any appetite and shook her head 'no'. Sasuke scowled slightly but regained his patient composure. "C'mon. You have to get better, stupid."
"I-I'm not really h-hungry..." she squeaked from underneath the warm covers. He sighed and put the bowl of soup down, sliding his hands underneath the covers and her back to lift her up. She gave out a short squeal of surprise before realizing he was merely sitting her upright. She was heavy since she hadn't eaten much for a couple of days now, to his disliking.
Grabbing the bowl, Sasuke picked up the sthingy and held it to her mouth instead. Hinata stared it for a moment and then back at Sasuke, looking clueless. "You. Need. To. Eat." he said, slightly mocking her. She made a pouting face and shook her head.
"Hinata, don't you want to get better?" he asked. She thought about it for a moment. It really did stink being sick, but she couldn't possibly force herself to eat could she? Hesitantly, Hinata slowly nodded her head.
"Then eat the soup that I worked hard to make for you." Sasuke stated bluntly. He was an Uchiha genius. He could do anything required to do, but cooking wasn't exactly his 'forte'. Reluctantly, she opened her mouth as he gently tipped the sthingy, letting the soup flow in along with some food bits.
She chewed slowly and thoroughly, finding it surprising that she was much hungrier than she had thought. "Chicken soup? Where did you learn to make that?" Hinata asked, a bit shocked that Sasuke could cook let alone make chicken soup.
"My mother use to make it for me whenever I got sick." Sasuke stated, looking down at the bowl and feeding her another sthingyful. "Now stop talking and eat."
Hinata nodded in understanding and finished up whatever she had been given. She was thankful that she was use to Sasuke's cold and demanding demeanor. Living with Neji, you had to be use to it. When the bowl was cleared, Sasuke set it to the side as Hinata sunk back under the covers.
There was a small silence as he sat with his arms crossed, waiting for her to fall asleep. She never did though. Something had been itching at her mind that she couldn't get rid of. Turning towards Sasuke, Hinata talked weakly, "You know, you didn't have to spend your time taking care of me."
He merely shrugged. "I know."
"Then why did you come?"
A smirk played across his face. "Why? Do you not want me here?"
Hinata's cheeks flashed red in embarassment. "N-No! It's not that! I mean, I didn't want y-you going through all the t-trouble for me..."
Sasuke's smirk had faded away, but the playful glint in his eyes were still present and visible. He ran a hand through his messy dark hair and sighed. "I guess...it's because I missed you."
She stared with wide eyes in surprise as he continued. "I haven't seen you, these couple days, and I was...worried." he said awkwardly.
Looking back down at Hinata, Sasuke found her smiling warmly up at him with her face flustered and the covers pulled up to her chin. "What are you smiling at? Go to sleep." He said, playfully pinched her nose softly.
Hinata giggled weakly and sunk deeper into the blankets, letting sleep about to overtake her fragile state. "Sasuke..." she whispered, already half asleep. "...thank you."
Though it was barely audiable, he had heard everything and let his eyes soften as he unconciously leaned down. Sasuke brushed his lips lightly on hers, as to disturbing Hinata from her sleep. He wasn't worried one bit on getting sick since is metabolism would definately not allow it. After all, he was an Uchiha. And Uchiha's didn't get sick.
The next day, Hinata was up and feeling better already. Only to get a phone call from Sasuke. Something about ..fever... and ...It's your fault... ending with a ...come and take care of me...
[[Wow, that took me an hour. Please post reply if this was at least decent for my first time...]]
