[[OOC: Sorry, but I didn't bother to proof-read this one. Tell me if there are any mistakes. ]]
The idea was one of Ira’s less than magnificent ones, so when her friend assented to it, the plan maker herself was a little nervous. There were so many things that could go wrong: The bike was obviously someone else’s, so the owner might come after the two as lowlife thieves; Hiro might not be able to handle both girls’ weight on the bike; And knowing their luck, they could end up in even more trouble. This was one of the most desperate circumstances that any non-ninja citizen would be able to stumble into anyhow.
Ira took position at the front seat to be able to see where they needed to go, Hiro in the back. The road between stray buildings and apartment homes that were so far off the main road that they were actually riding on dirt that was packed down hard by the impact of many footsteps. This part of town looked much less industrialized and only a few shops and stalls lined the way.
“The lights are pretty,” Hiro said brightly as they pedaled. Ira didn’t understand what could be pretty about the pathetic glow of dim lanterns and cheap, watt guzzling light bulbs, but knowing that her friend had enough breath to speak while peddling settled her doubts about Hiro not being able to handle biking for both of them.
“And don’t worry about me, Ira-san. I’ve been working at different jobs so my body is really strong now. Leave it all to me!”
Ira took more humor in that statement than she thought she would, and let out a soft chuckle at the peddler’s enthusiasm.
When Ira added nothing after the laugh, as was characteristic to her stolid personality, a peaceful silence came over the girls as they cooperated in searching for another bus stop. Ira made sure they avoided any rough patches on the streets and all obstacles, and scanned the areas while in search of a bus bench. So focused was she on the task that she didn’t realize Hiro was trying to get her attention until the head butt a bit after.
“Look,” the violet haired girl directed as she thingyed her head towards a lamp post plastered with one repeating poster. “It looks like they’re having a music convert tonight and admission is cheap! It looks like Miyavi-san will be there; Moi dix Mois too!”
Unknowingly, Hiro had halted their forward motion and the two girls were standing in the middle of an almost empty road again. Ira turned around, intending to argue her friend out of the idea, but couldn’t when she saw how puppy-like and childish she looked while staring at the poster.
“What do you say, Ira-san? It looks like fun~!”
”I’m going to regret this too,” the girl thought agonizingly. ”But how am I supposed to dissuade someone like this? I can practically see the glittering aura about her!”
The shorter girl groaned as if wounded, but nodded her consent anyway. “Fine, we can go,” she sighed. “But if when we get to the club they don’t let us in because of our age or money, we’ll just go and wait for a bus like planned, okay?”
Hiro agreed immediately, excited that she would get to watch the artists that Ira thought creepy. Miyavi had a couple songs that the music lover could stand, but most of his repertoire and that of Moi dix Mois was too heavy and hard-core for her ears. Ira loved listening to foreign artists since she wasn’t very interested in Japanese ones, and there were few Japanese ones that she actually listened to more than a few times. They were LM.C, Flow, Kelun, Yuzu, Orange Range, and UVERworld. She doubted they would play with Miyavi or Moi dix Mois though, and resigned herself to enduring through the show so Hiro could have fun.
When they got to the club, loud music that Ira didn’t recognize was already blasting from below, and whoever was supposed to be taking tickets or money for the event had left their post for something else (most likely to join in on the fun below). Ira had some issues with going down the stairs to the club, and both students had to work at opening the heavy solid wood door. When they entered, they discovered the club wasn’t just some small bar like the usual ones. Its large size and customer capacity explained why big names like Miyavi would bother performing, but it only irked Ira more. Of course Hiro was already too wrapped up in whatever was going on to notice, and as a friend, the other girl hid the signs of her unease and leaned against a wall to steady herself against the vibrations caused by the booming bass and amplifiers.
She yelled to Hiro over the music, “We’ll stay for an hour or more if you want, but ONLY if nothing happens while we’re here. Now go do what you want. I’ll be over here…” Ira turned her head to find she was leaning next to a couple making out and mentally shivered at the sight of it. “I’ll be here, with these two.”
