The redness that seemed to naturally plant itself onto Hiro's face faded away gradually, being replaced by another happy smile. She nodded excitedly and, gaining some courage, grabbed hold of Ira's hand and lead(dragged) her down the street.
Luckily the walk was only 10 minutes long before they reached an apartment building that looked pretty close to running down. There were dim lights coming from some of the windows since many were preparing to sleep. Hiro let go of Ira to respect her correctly and motioned her to follow, a smile still etched on her face. The Yukime apartment was located at the third floor, second door to the right after getting off the elevator. The carpet looked ragged and as though elephants stomped through the hallways but Hiro seemed unaffected by it all. She reached inside her bag and brought out the keys, unlocking the door and inviting Ira in first.
Even luckier, the inside of their apartment was a little nicer than the outside and hallways of the building. The windows were large, taking up almost the entire wall, and giving them a good view of the city. The furniture still looked rather cheap, but it had come at a fair price and was often used in regular homes. The first room they had entered in was the living room, followed by the kitchen a couple of paces in. There was no wall connecting the living room to the kitchen, only mere counters that held various items such as bowls with contents still in it, batter, and empty egg shells.
"Nii-san must have been working on a project just now." Hiro stated, looking at the mess and wondering if she was to be the one to clean it up later. She turned her attention back towards Ira and smiled warmly. "Welcome to the home of the Yukime family! It isn't much, I'm sure that the houses you've seen are much more extravagant, but its nice and homely." Hiro trotted over to the counter and set her backpack down on the counter before walking over to the corner of the room. There, stood a large white poster paper hung on the wall with various paint filled balloons hung. "By the looks of it, Nii-san will be done cooking in a short while and-"
"WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME HOME HIRO!!"
Hiro was almost knocked over completely when a lean mass of flesh buried itself over her and hugged her tightly. She laughed and wrapped her arms around their waste, hugging the person back tightly. "Hi Nii-san!"
The boy pulled back, his face clear with excitement and unstoppable optimism gleaming down at the younger girl version of him. His hair was a brown color tied in a pony-tail, his clothes were a collar shirt with jeans and an apron over it all. Smudges of flour and some other unknown powder were plotted randomly over his face. The boy's brown eyes shone with youth and kindness that resembled Hiro's, claiming that they were both related. To judge by appearance, Heiji was a doting brother. All his attention was directed at his 'beloved' younger sibling, completely void of any other presence nearby[i.e. Ira].
"Soooo? How was your day? Was work too hard? Are you eating enough? You look pretty skinny. Is that old man feeding you right? Because if he isn't, I'll have to-" Heiji stopped short when his gaze landed on Ira. He stared at her blankly with wide eyes for a moment before lifting Hiro's hand and waving it at her. "Oh? Who's this?"
"This is Mirai Ira-san!" Hiro introduced with a cheerful smile. "Ira-san, this is my nii-san, Heiji. I invited her over to join us at dinner since Father isn't home. I wanted her to try your delicious food, Nii-san."
"Oh, is that so?" Heiji asked, his eyes still wide and sparkling with enthusiasm. They suddenly soften and become warm with greetings as his lips curl into a charming smile. "Please do, Ira-san. We'd be pleasured to have you join us."

Hiro beamed up at Ira, practically radiating light. It seemed that all her shyness had melted away once the other girl answered, since Hiro actual grabbed Ira's hand and turned swiftly to lead the way. The poor girl being dragged along was caught off guard and nearly tripped over while Hiro, happily oblivious to Ira's shock, marched forward.
Getting into the rhythm of the the shorter girl's pace, Ira sighed. 'Why am I constantly being dragged about?' she mentally asked herself, reflecting on her first day at Konoha High. Am I just that easily led?'
Ira sighed again, and let herself be led to Hiro's home. The walk was a short one; it was only ten minutes before they had reached Hiro's building. Hiro had finally let go of Ira's hand, leaving it much warmer than her other hand. Ira noticed the dismal state in which the building was in. The carpet of the halls were stained and trampled- raised and wrinkled in some places. The numbers on the elevator buttons were faded and barely visible after years of use. Ira felt the urge to find some sort of Sharpie marker to re-write the numbers. The neat freak was about ready to pull out some Oxy-Clean and a scrub brush to destroy some of the stains on the carpets as well.
DING. The elevator door opened and Hiro walked casually to the second door down the hallway. Ira silently followed, hands in her pockets. Hiro pulled keys out of her bag and unlocked the door, motioning for Ira to enter first.
"Thanks," she said quietly as she shuffled into the apartment. The main room was just about average. Ira's focus was immediately brought to the gargantuan window that nearly took up the entire wall in front of her. She was staring at the view before her attention was brought back to Hiro.
"Nii-san must have been working on a project just now," She stated, looking at a rather messy kitchen counter. Hiro turned back to Ira and said, "Welcome to the home of the Yukime family! It isn't much, I'm sure that the houses you've seen are much more extravagant, but its nice and homely. By the looks of it, Nii-san will be done cooking in a short while and-"
Hiro was cut off by some large mass that tackled her.
"WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME HOME HIRO!!" shouted the mass as it nearly engulfed the petite girl.
Laughing, Hiro somehow managed to puller her arms out from under the amoeba-like mass that covered her and hugged it. "Hi Nii-san!"
The mass finally pulled back, showing that he was in fact Hiro's older brother. He did look like her sketch, which made Ira impressed.
"Soooo? How was your day? Was work too hard? Are you eating enough? You look pretty skinny. Is that old man feeding you right? Because if he isn't, I'll have to-" Heiji stopped once he finally noticed Ira stading off to the side, staring with shocked eyes at how Hiro wasn't a pancake yet. "Oh? Who's this?"
"This is Mirai Ira-san!" Answered Hiro as she indicated towards the other girl. "Ira-san, this is my nii-san, Heiji. I invited her over to join us at dinner since Father isn't home. I wanted her to try your delicious food, Nii-san."
"Oh, is that so?" Heiji asked. He smiled as he said, "Please do, Ira-san. We'd be pleasured to have you join us."
"Thanks....sorry to be a bother," answered Ira. She had taken Hiro's role of the shy one since she was not used yet comfortable around adults. Her expression didn't noticeably change, but her eyes were slightly narrowed with discomfort. "Nice to meet you, Heiji," she added, extending her hand as if to shake his.

[[lol. SORRY!! ^o^']]
Heiji seemed completely oblivious to Ira's discomfort and shook her hand almost wildly. He was tall and rather lean, but was packed with muscles from constant activities during his high school years. "It's very nice to meet you!" he smiled comfortingly in greeting. Many had always told Hiro how odd her brother was, being so childish and happy all the time. But it's because of his warm personality and welcoming looks that made him loveable and charismatic as a human being.
After almost seemingly wringing out Ira's arm in the handshake, he walked over to the kitchen and slapped on a 'Kiss the Cook' apron. "Dinner will be ready in about a half hour. Make yourselves at home!"
Hiro nodded in understanding at her brother and turned back to Ira. "You'll love his Okonomiyaki and you'll love his dessert even more!" she smiled, trotting over to the other side of the room as she did where a seperate 6 foot tall wall seemed to stand. It was covered by a white cloth to conceal whatever had been beneath it from the eyes of many viewers.
"But before dinner starts, I'd like to show you my latest project." Hiro grinned excitedly. She tugged at the cloth as swiftly as she could to reveal a plain white board, lined with balloons filled with assorted painting colors. "I call it 'Splatz'!"
[[OOC: Notice the total lack of originality in that name.]]
She took about ten paces away from the board and slid her hand inside a pack that was attached to her pants leg. Pulling out a needle, Hiro toom a moment to squint her eyes and aim at a random balloon. The balloon burst into an explosion of red and had splattered on the white wall and the floor, which had been covered by paper and plastic for safety precautions just moments before. Hiro grinned widely and laughed to her enjoyment. She pulled out a couple of needles and handed them carefully to Ira for her to try.
"Aim, throw, and 'boom'!" She raised her hands in a circular motion to mimic the explosion of paint.

"It's very nice to meet you," answered Heiji as he vigorously shook Ira's hand. The brown haired man's hand was large enough to eat the younger girl's while his shaking nearly dislodged her arm. It was obvious how energetic Heiji was, though it didn't do anything to help Ira's discomfort.
Letting go, the man went back to the kitchen and slipped into an apron covered in stains that read "Kiss the Cook."
"Dinner will be ready in about a half hour. Make yourselves at home!" Heiji said, smiling, to the two girls standing in the main room. Hiro nodded, smiling lovingly back at her brother.
Walking to the opposite wall, Hiro took hold of the corner of a large white tarp. There were odd bulges from beneath the cloth that caught Ira's attention.
"But before dinner starts, I'd like to show you my latest project." She yanked the cloth off the wall, revealing a white board with balloons attached. Ira assumed it would be paint filling the balloons since water would really do nothing for a work of art.
"I call it 'Splatz'!" Hiro stood ten feet away from the walll and took out some senbon from her pocket. Squinting, she aimed a balloon containing red paint. Throwing the needle resulted in a giant burst of bright red pain all over the wall and papers lining the ground, which also entertained Hiro greatly.
Laughing, she gave Ira a few needles to try as well. "Aim, throw, and 'boom',"she instructed simply as she motioned as well.
Shrugging, Ira replied, "Okay. Just so you know though, I have horrible aim."
With that, Ira turned around and threw the needle. The first one went stray from it's target and hit the board three centimeters away from a balloon, causing both girls to laugh.
"Ha! Let's try that again," chuckled Ira as she shook her head. This time taking closer aim, she threw the needle. A loud pop was heard as the board was splattered with blue paint.
The two continued this for a while until all the balloons were popped. By the end of it, both Hiro and Ira were smiling widely, and the board was an explosion of color.

Hiro lied herself down on the couch, leaning her head back and sighed in relaxation. She'd been laughing too much for her own good for the past couple of moments. Throwing the needles, feeling energy surge through her as the balloons exploded, and then breaking into a giggling fit afterwards exhausted her to no end. It was amusing to her though. She'd have many projects that were unseen by people's eyes, sometimes even her brother's.
This art was merely a splatter of different colored paints mixing together. It had looked odd, but beautiful in its own way nonetheless. Hiro had always thought that the outcome of the piece of art was only half the enjoyment. The other half was the time, energy, and passion put into it. To spend your precious moments turning a plain white wall into a rich in color work of genius was sure as hell worth it.
"Aah..." Hiro sighed with a dazed smile on her face as she forced her body to relax from its tense state. "I'm pooped. I haven't had so much fun since my last major art project...with..." Her voice trailed off without her knowing as her eyes had instantly found its way towards the plain ceiling.
"...W-With mother..." Hiro muttered with a soft smile. Oh great, the stutter was back. A soft quietness had overtaken her as she had suddenly recalled that her mother wasn't going to show her any more of her master pieces. Not wanting there to be any awkward silence, after a few seconds, Hiro had opened her mouth slightly to say something only to be interrupted by a yell from the kitchen.
"Dinner's gonna be ready in a few!" Heiji called with a wide grin as he flipped a pancake like food in the air with a black pan. "I just gotta add some more eggs and-"
A crack sound was heard.
"Oooops.." The ambitious brother stuck his head out of the kitchen with a sheepish smile. "Hiro, I hope you and Ira-san don't mind Okonomiyaki without eggs..."
Hiro giggled inwardly and turned towards Ira, her smile no longer looking sad nor broken. "Heiji nii-san is kind of clumsy. I guess we are related afterall..."

Hiro lied down on the couch, sighing after all the laughing she had done with Ira. Her guest didn’t feel like sitting on furniture and just dropped into a cross-legged position on the floor where she had been standing. At her own sparsely decorated apartment, Ira usually lied on the ground or sprawled herself on the floor when doing homework. It was easier and felt more natural.
"Aah..." Hiro sighed again. She had slumped into the grooves of the couch, looking somewhat floppy. "I'm pooped. I haven't had so much fun since my last major art project...with..." The sentence was not completed as Hiro’s voice went off.
Ira looked up at the other girl and saw her gazing at the ceiling. She mouthed something that Ira couldn’t catch and just sat there, motionless. ’What happened?’ she wondered, looking worriedly at her classmate on the couch.
“Hey…” Ira started before Heiji’s voice cut her off.
"Dinner's gonna be ready in a few!"
This brought both girls’ attention to the kitchen area just in time to see the man flip some sort of omelet pancake style with a skillet. He looked pretty confident as he smiled and said, "I just gotta add some more eggs and-"
CRACK. ’Oh snap.’
"Oooops…Hiro, I hope you and Ira-san don't mind Okonomiyaki without eggs..."
Ira didn’t know how to respond to that and just smiled instead. She was trying to hold in a giant outburst of giggles, shaking her head slowly.
"Heiji nii-san is kind of clumsy. I guess we are related afterall..." said Hiro as she smiled at Ira.
“Oh, I’m not so sure. You don’t seem clumsy at all,” she said mischievously. “At least not compared to me in the kitchen.” Hiro smiled at this. “Hey, for the few minutes before dinner is ready, care to show me those other projects you talked about?”

"Eh?" Hiro's ears perked up again as she suddenly felt energy flood back into her. "O-Okay!" She practically jumped up from the couch in excitement and trotted down the hallway quickly but slows enough so Ira wouldn't lose track of her. "This way!" she called back to her with a wide smile.
She stopped in front of a creamy white door and placed her hand on the cool metal knob for a moment. She's always liked a big entrance and a greater finish. With a large smile, Hiro opened the door all the way and switched on the lights in one motion.
"Welcome to 'Hiro's Mini Art Gallery'!"
[[Note the total lack of originality in that name as well…]]
Canvases lined along the walls, some blank and some filled with assortments of paints and sketches on it. The walls were originally white but were stained with different colors of paints and crayon markings along the walls. Hiro remembered that, as a child, her mother had let her do whatever she wanted in the room. She had drawn all over it with crayons as a kid, starting as scribbles and gradually moved up to paint brushes and pastels. There were even some pencil markings on the wall from when she needed to take quick notes. Hiro also remembered when she and her mother started leaving little notes to each other on the walls. It had included her jumping out of bed every morning for two years to find a note that her mother had always written. Some made her smile, some made her laugh, and some had even made her cry though it wasn't intentional.
[[From here, I made a seperate post explaining what happened with her mom and her brother and everything. You can read it if you want. I'll put it in the 'Apartments' section, kay? I was on a roll! XD]]
Some paintings were hung on the ceiling as well, facing down to give a person a good view if they ever decided to look up. In the middle of the colorful room, a regular sized –though slightly larger- canvas stood tall and proud. On it was a collage of several pictures of some kind of cake glued together in a cupcake shape. Hiro trotted over to it and stood next to it, looking professional.
"I don't really have a name for this one yet, but I made it when Nii-san baked his award winning crème breu le and let me have the first bite." She explained with a smile, unconsciously licking her lips at the memory of her brother's spectacular tasting dish.
Other paintings and collages decorated the canvases, all depicting what she was feeling and thinking at the moment. Like her sketches, they had random and unpredictable portraits and color designs. Some had sneakers from when Hiro was in her 'thinking' mood and had wondered whether or not people could create shoes that would pump air out of their heels to let them jump higher. Another painting had a purple striped giraffe from when she was curious of what different animals would look like with different colors and designs. There was even one with pieces of toast tacked to the canvas, burnt parts forming a picture of a man; no doubt her father. He was an almost exact, older version of Heiji except his eyes were darker, colder, and his cheek bones were slightly higher.
Hiro laughed at remembering the look on her father's face when she showed it to him. Turning back to Ira, her grin never fading, she had begun to explain each piece with a short description of what she had been thinking at the moment.

"Eh? O-Okay!" Hiro answered excitedly. She hurriedly got off the couch and went into the hallway connected to the room. Surprised by her classmate's peppy reaction, Ira almost couldn't follow. Only at Hiro's call did Ira move. "This way!"
"Coming," she half chuckled as she got off the floor. She turned into the hallway in time to see a very grand gesture made by her class mate. In one sweeping motion of her hand, Hiro opened the door (presumably) to her room and switched on the light.
"Welcome to 'Hiro's Mini Art Gallery'!"
There were paintings, sketches, and other random projects strung about everywhere. Hiro's walls were plain white, but it was almost impossible to tell underneath the wild collage of art. Things were strung on the walls and ceiling. In the space that was actually left open, Hiro had made little scribbles of words.
Only one canvas wasn't put up on the wall to be displayed with all the other works. Only one wasn't added in with the colorful mishmash of paintings. It was a real collage of cakes pasted together in resemblance of a cupcake.
"Cake?" Ira asked, staring blankly at the pastry art.
"I don't really have a name for this one yet, but I made it when Nii-san baked his award winning crème breu le and let me have the first bite."
Hiro continued after to explain each of her projects in detail. Some confused Ira, but they all brought a smile to her lips. Being around someone that was almost constantly childishly happy or extremely shy made her feel almost as happy too. She was still pretty reserved, but Ira was having a good enough time to laugh nearly full on at all the odd pictures. She was having a good time.
Heiji's voice came from the doorway, disrupting the merriment.
"Hey, food's up. Come and get it while it's hot and delicious," he said warmly. Ira was reminded of her friend Ren's warmth. Heiji looked nothing like the lanky brunette, but his actions toward Hiro were nearly the same as Ren's while she and Ira were children at the orphanage. She could only frown at his smile and the way he looked to his sibling.
**OOC: Meh...sorry I hadn't posted in so long. Never felt up to the task of trying to match your greatness, Hiro. Still not up to it, but whatever.*
